General Lawn Care Tips

✅ Mow Regularly

  • Spring/Summer: Every 5-7 days to control weeds.
  • Fall/Winter: Every 7-10 days for better weed control.
  • Recommended Height by Grass Type: Bermuda: 1-2.5 inches | Zoysia: 1-2.5 inches | Centipede: 1.5-2 inches | St. Augustine: 3-4 inches | Bahia: 3-4 inches
    • Mow grass at the shorter recommended height for your grass type in spring to encourage green-up. As summer sets in, raise mowing height to help protect roots from heat and drought. In winter, leave grass slightly longer to protect roots from cold stress.

Wait 48 hours after lawn treatments before mowing.

💧 Water Smartly

  • Water lawn applications within 48 hours for best results.
  • Water your lawn early in the morning, between 3:00 and 9:00 a.m. for best results.
  • Lawns need 1-2 inches of water per week.
  • Lawns with clay soil benefit from deep watering two to three times per week instead of daily.
  • Lawns with sandy soil in the Gulf Coast benefit from shorter, more frequent watering.
  • Reduce watering in fall and winter.

🌱 Aerate for Healthier Grass

  • Aeration improves air, water, and nutrient absorption.
  • Helps with weed control and promotes strong root growth.
  • Best done during the active growing season.

Weed Treatment Expectations

  • Weeds may discolor 14-21 days after treatment.
  • Mowing 48+ hours after lawn application boosts weed control.
  • Without seasonal pre-emergent applications, weed activity may be higher.
