MOSQUITO CONTROL

Mosquito Control in Birmingham, AL

In the south, most of us grew up catching lightning bugs and playing tag on hot summer nights. But nothing brought these good times to an end like mosquitoes. Many of our parents and grandparents tried to protect us with everything from bug zappers to "Deep Woods" bug repellent, but bug bites on our legs, arms, and faces were a fact of life. Meanwhile, pets were exposed to heartworms and other mosquito-borne illnesses.

But not anymore. Waynes Mosquito Plus offers protection our parents and grandparents only dreamed about.

Houses across the south have decks and patios that go unused because of mosquito misery. But with Waynes Mosquito Plus, your family can enjoy a barbeque in the backyard without worrying you will become the meal. Waynes ensures a positive outdoor experience by using environmentally-safe prevention methods to kill mosquitos to protect your friends and loved ones.

Types of Mosquitoes

Types of Mosquitoes

There are about two hundred types of mosquitoes found in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC), about a dozen of them spread diseases that can really make people sick. The most common types that spread disease in the United States are the Aedes mosquito, the Culex mosquito, and the Anopheles mosquito. Outside of the dozen disease carrying ones, the CDC labels them as “nuisance mosquitoes.”

The problem is that it’s pretty hard to identify which mosquitoes are carrying illness producing germs and which ones are just nuisances. So, the CDC advises, just protect yourself against all mosquito bites.

Mosquitoes Are Also Joy Killers

Mosquitoes Are Also Joy Killers

In the South, most of us grew up catching lightning bugs and playing tag on hot summer nights. But nothing brought these good times to an end like blood-sucking mosquitoes. Many of our parents and grandparents tried to protect us with everything from bug zappers to "Deep Woods" bug repellent, but irritating, itchy bug bites on our legs, arms, and faces remained a fact of life.

Female mosquitoes are the biters, requiring blood to help form their eggs—and, through their bites, they can spread unwanted diseases to you and your family: the West Nile and Zika viruses as well as dengue, malaria, encephalitis, yellow fever, and more. Meanwhile, pets become exposed to heartworms and other mosquito-borne illnesses.

As another joy killer, houses across the South have decks and patios that go unused because of mosquito misery. Barbecues, picnics, and outdoor parties are stuck with party crashing mosquitoes.

But, with Waynes Mosquito Plus, your family can enjoy a barbeque in the backyard without worrying you will become the meal. Waynes ensures a positive outdoor experience by using environmentally-safe prevention methods to kill mosquitoes to protect your friends and loved ones.

Mosquito Plus Treatments

Mosquito Plus Treatments

Waynes Mosquito Plus offers fast acting, long lasting and environmentally friendly protection that our parents and grandparents only dreamed about. We started out by offering Birmingham mosquito control and, as our company expanded to its current tri-state locations, our mosquito treatments have also expanded to places across Alabama as well as to Mississippi and Tennessee.

Plus, there are things you can do to help reduce mosquito populations on your property. Although there are three thousand or so mosquito species found around the world with differing characteristics, many of these species have one thing in common: how they reproduce in standing water.

By reducing areas of stagnant water on your property, including in birdbaths, fountains, trash cans, air conditioner drip pans, kiddie pools, and so forth, you can help to limit the number of mosquitoes on your property. You can also fix leaks on outdoor faucets and pipes, keep the grass cut, and trim bushes—especially during the warmer months. That’s when mosquitoes breed and then feed on people and pets.

Although DEET and other insect repellents won’t get rid of the pests, using them can help to prevent you from getting bitten. To actually get rid of them, contact us for our Mosquito Plus treatments.

The “Plus” in “Mosquito Plus”

The “Plus” in “Mosquito Plus”

The name of “Mosquito Plus” refers to how our comprehensive mosquito treatments also take care of fleas and ticks, eliminating them from your property. These nasty pests are typically discovered in your home, but they’ve come in from outdoors—often carried in by your pets—and they will bite and can spread diseases to people and pets.

Fleas create itchy, even painful bites and can transmit typhus and cat scratch fever to people and tapeworm and other harmful diseases to pets. As soon as you realize you have a flea problem, it’s best to reach out for help. For every flea that you’re aware of, there are larvae, eggs, and other adults that will cause problems with a small flea population quickly turning into a true infestation.

Ticks also bite and can spread diseases, including Lyme disease, which can cause serious problems to tissues and joints and even the heart and nervous system. In the United States each year, there are tens of thousands of new cases reported to the CDC. Other diseases carried by ticks include Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, encephalitis, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, tularemia, and more. In places where warmer weather is common—which can include Alabama, Mississippi, and even Tennessee—ticks can be active year round.

Nobody wants any of this triad of pests (mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks) on their properties. So, we’ve designed a powerful mosquito control treatment—Mosquito Plus—to tackle all three. Thanks to Waynes Mosquito Plus and its ability to safely and effectively get rid of these biting pests in affordable ways, you can sleep well at night—and enjoy being outdoors again.

To fight back against these pests, contact us online or call 205-985-7009.

Have A Question? Call Us Today!

Mosquito Control FAQs:

We’ll state the obvious first: the best pest control is a method that works—and we can confidently say that Waynes Mosquito Plus is the optimal treatment. Not only does it take care of disease carrying mosquitoes, it also tackles two other biting pests that can spread diseases: ticks and fleas. So, it’s a comprehensive three in one solution. Mosquito Plus is fast acting and long lasting while being eco-friendly, sustainable, and affordable. Plus, Waynes service professionals are trained at Waynes University to optimally apply these treatments.

Definitely! As the Alabama Department of Public Health notes, more than a million people around the globe die from mosquito-borne illnesses annually. Because global travel is much more common, diseases that used to be uncommon in the United States no longer are. These includes the West Nile Virus, Zika Virus, dengue fever, chikungunya, and more. Specifically in Alabama, three different kinds of encephalitis have been documented in mosquito vectors. So, if you need Birmingham mosquito control, mosquito treatment in Huntsville, or in any of our other Alabama service locations, just reach out to us online or call 1-866-929-6371.

The Mississippi State Department of Health, meanwhile, shares how at least four viruses are being carried by Mississippi mosquitoes: three types of encephalitis and the West Nile Virus. “Because it is difficult to tell different mosquitoes apart and it is impossible to determine how many mosquitoes are infected with a disease at any one time, it is important to try to avoid being bitten by any mosquitoes.” Waynes serves numerous communities in Mississippi with mosquito treatments, and we’re ready to get started with yours.

The Tennessee Department of Health also warns about diseases carried by mosquitoes and shares how easily these pests can breed on your property. “Even small amounts of water,” they write, “like in the base of a flower pot, are enough for mosquitoes to become biting adults.” In other words, potentially disease-carrying adults. Contact us for Nashville mosquito control treatments and those in our Tennessee locations

So, returning to the original question, the answer is yes! Waynes mosquito treatments are worth it in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. They’re affordable, safe, eco-friendly and effective while eliminating pests that are, at a minimum, a nuisance—and, in many cases, can carry dangerous diseases. When you choose Birmingham mosquito control, mosquito treatment in Huntsville, Nashville mosquito control, or treatments near you, you’ll also benefit from the elimination of ticks and fleas.

Whether you need mosquito control in Huntsville, Birmingham, Nashville—or treatments in any of our other tri-state locations—Mosquito Plus is the answer. We’ve said that there must be at least a hundred trillion mosquitoes, and, sometimes, it seems like half of them are on your property when you’re planning to enjoy being in your yard.

Because that’s no laughing matter, we’ve designed the highly effective Mosquito Plus treatment that will get rid of these biting pests along with fleas and ticks. That way, the only guests at your backyard picnic are the ones you’ve invited.

Mosquito Plus is a fast-acting mosquito treatment that’s environmentally friendly and lasts for a long time. Its proactive exclusion technologies focus on keeping your property pest free.
